Well, this is for school. A short story that was created in a eight point font double spaced and only six pages. But if it was published in a book, it could be more better. Though, this is just a simple story that I enjoyed writing.
:iconjotie-tamaro:
An alarm went off and a creature sat up in bed, rubbing his eyes. He was groggy and tired as he stepped out of bed. He stretched, his large skin cape on his arms stretched to its extent. He then slipped into a shirt and tied it on through the hole of his skin and side. He then did the same to his pants, wearing a red shirt and blue cut jeans. He staggered over and pulled out a strong alcoholic beverage and started to drink. A red blush showed he was starting to get drunk already as he turned and looked at the mirror.
"Ha ha! You're drunk!" he said out loud to himself. "Dude... Do I really look like that?" he then said, looking at his grey stubby horns upon his head, his ears long and pointed back like a rabbit's. His yellow fur all over his body and his large fuzzy tail twitched. His cat-button-like nose, but mostly a regular face. He poked his nose and cracked up. "My nose is funny." He then heard the doorbell ring. The young adult then walked towards the door and answered it. "Hey! It's the government!" He said with a drunken tone.
The girl stood in her military suit. The words said ANI on her name tag. Her name, LT Paprika across. She also had along a person, who didn't look like any creature he's seen.
She then spoke, "Greetings citizen. I'm here to inform you that you have been randomly selected to be an escort to a valuable person to be transported here. He-"
"Ya ya..." He interrupted. "So I have to take you to someplace to go to. Wanna go to the restraunt and get to know each other, sweet girl?" He said, arching his brow and winking.
"...Right. As I was saying, the person you have to escort is right behind me. He is ordered to be transported to Pentia. You shall be paid ten thousand vemos and you will get limited supplies in escorting him." She then handed him a tranquilizer gun with several tranquilizers to put someone to sleep for who knows how long!
Jacob took the gun and studied it. "What's this for?"
"It's for using it on him if he plans to escape. He has tried several times, but I know you are suited for the job." She then turned around and then walked off.
"So what about dinner tonight?" He called after her, grinning drunkenly.
She just said, "Thanks for your cooperation. If you don't complete your mission, we will consider you dead. Until then, you are responsible."
He then walked in and then muttered to himself, "ANI... There are rarely any of them left. The only place I know where they are at is at Pentia. They are not exactly the government, and they would never assign someone to do a mission like that." He then looked over and saw the person. "Well, come in. We'll get something to eat, all right?"
The person looked up. It was a human. And most likely the only one left on this planet. Ever since Mars has created new life on there, humans have been moving to that planet and new life began to exist around the year two thousand, eight hundred and ninety.
The human wore black and his hair was black. His eyes were dark brown. His eyes told all. He has been through suffering and there was no way to get to the planet, Mars now.
"I'm going to find something to eat for us. I hope you don't mind me cooking." He opened the fridge and then saw a jug of milk. He then drank out of the carton and then choked. The milk was awful. "Aaah! Ugh! How long has this been in here!? It should be in the museum! God! I'm going to die!" He then sat the milk in the fridge and panted, his tongue lolling out. "All right... I guess we go to the fast food. I don't have a car, because of an unpaid DUI, so we have to walk. You up for a little walk, buddy?" He asked.
The person just nodded, but stayed silent. Yep, he's a drunk. He thought to himself and followed him easily.
As they began to walk outside, Jacob began speaking. “So, how come you didn’t go to Mars? Did you hate yourself for being human and want to be like me?” he asked with a grin.
I don’t want to be a drunken idiot… But I am human, just with weird powers. He wanted to tell him that, but he thought it would be too much, or this drunk might just laugh about it, so he stayed quiet.
Jacob lived on the edge of town, close to a hidden ANI military base, close to the suburban area, where there are more crowds at in town. He headed up to Quick-Ei-Mart to buy some stuff. He bought some milk, Swiss cheese, bread, cut salami, and sliced turkey breast.
As he went over to the counter to buy it, Jeremi, the store clerk was watching the human. He whispered, “Is that really a human?”
Jacob nodded. “Yep. I’m supposedly to escort him to Pentia City or something. I don’t know exactly where in that place. She didn’t really help me out.”
“Aah, so it pays good?” he then asked.
“Heck ya! Only around ten thousand vemos and limited supplies of food for who knows how long!” he said with a grin. “I just wish this guy could talk though. It would be nice to talk to him.” He patted him on the back with a grin.
I don’t talk to drunks… he thought to himself.
Jacob shrugged and then said, “Well, we are off now! Laters, bud,” he waved as he took him along to the street. He then sat down on the table nearby and took everything out of the bag. He then made a sandwich for him and himself. The mute took it and began to eat.
Man… I wonder how come he doesn’t talk, Jacob thought. I know he’s a mute, but I know he can talk. Maybe he just doesn’t want to. Maybe by the time I get to know him better, he would say his name. Or at least write it down. He watched him eat as he bit down on his own sandwich.
The human looked over and noticed people watching him. He swallowed and looked at Jacob and pointed to them. Jacob looked and nodded. “It’s alright. They just have never met a human before anyways. Just ignore them.”
But they walked over and went up to him. A rabbit anthro with long ears and a slim body with strong legs and upper body. He looked like trouble, considering he wore ripped black shirt and a spiked collar around his neck. The other person with him wore ripped green pants and cut off sleeve yellow shirt. She was a wolverine or a Lycanthrope as they called it with long wavy brown hair. She had her arms crossed.
“Hello Jacob. You are well known around here for your kindness,” the Lycan spoke. “We respect that. But I think the beer you’ve been drinking has finally messed with your head. Taking care of a dirty, filthy human.”
Jacob finished off his sandwich and then stood up to meet with her glare. “Well, I don’t want the kid to starve to death,” he responded.
“You should. They can get their own food. You better leave him here and now, or else.” She cracked her knuckles and looked at him with the death glare.
“What if I say no?”
When Jacob said that, the rabbit anthro was about to kick him. At that time, with quick reflex, the human was up and blocked the kick from hitting Jacob. Jacob blinked, wondering how fast he moved.
The Lycan charged in with speed to attack him. She attempted to claw the human across the face, striking down. But the human was too fast. He side-stepped away from them, grabbed her striking arm, and then gave her a strong blow with his fist to her stomach. She groaned and backed away, holding her stomach. The anthro grabbed a hold of the human’s arm and then was about to kick him, but Jacob came in and gave him a blow to the head, which knocked him off his feet.
The Lycan got up and then took out a knife and then charged in and stabbed down on the human’s arm. Jacob cursed and then went in and attacked him, but the human didn’t flinch. He moved his stabbed arm and grabbed her around the neck and then threw her down. He jumped on top of her and began punching her across the face, until she got knocked out. The rabbit anthro was already knocked out from the powerful blow upon his face. The human stood up and then pulled the dagger out of his arm, not even flinching.
Jacob grimaced. “Geeze... Doesn’t that hurt?” he asked when he saw him pocket the dagger. He shook his head. “Nevermind. Let’s go to the hospital to get you bandaged.”
They headed off towards the hospital and then he got patched up. Jacob nodded and then said, “Alright. You are a strange one. First, you are a mute. Second, you look like you can’t fight, but you proved yourself wrong. Third, you don’t even feel pain it looks like! Man, you are pretty tough or something,” he said. “Well, we better head off now, before the police arrive. No doubt we are going to run into more people like them as time goes by.”
As they continued, the human finally spoke, “Darkan...”
“Darkan?” Jacob asked as he turned around. “Did you just spoke?”
“My name is Darkan.” Darkan looked up and for once had a smile upon his face. “No one has treated me kindly, until now. But please, don’t take me to their experimental room.”
“Experiment!? What the heck!? Are they making you a lab rat or something? That ain’t right! Man, forget about going to that place.”
Darkan looked down, thinking. “What if we destroy that place?”
“You crazy!? There must be thousands of people in there! No way we could take them all on!”
“Then we destroy it secretly.”
“…How?”
“Simple. We go into that place and get the keys from one of the guards and unlock these bracers on my arms. Then you let me do the rest,” he told him with a smirk.
“Uh… Why the bracers? What, does it do something special if you unlock them?”
“You’ll find out,” he said with a chuckle. “Thanks for being a… friend.”
Jacob chuckled and patted him on the back. “Alright, so off to the base!”
As the days go buy, Darkan stopped by a fossil fueled old fashioned Lamborghini. Darkan punched the window and shattered it and unlocked the car. He then jumped in and then did some things to the wires below.
“What the heck are you doing!?” he shouted. “You b-“
“No time, drunk. We need to hurry to that place.” He then crossed several wires and then the car started up. He then hopped into the driver’s seat. “Get in.”
Jacob had no choice. He hopped in to the passenger’s side. “You better know how to drive.”
“I know how…” he said as he closed the door and drove off. “Just be lucky that this guy didn’t set the alarm to this car. Probably think he doesn’t need one, considering it’s an old model.”
“No kiddin,” Jacob said as he put on his seat belt. “Be sure to drive the speed limit. I don’t want the feds on us.”
Darkan nodded. “Ya, we don’t want two people after our backs.
After several miles, Darkan looked in the rear view mirror. “Great… Just what we need. A follower,” he told him.
“What?” he looked behind and noticed a blue hybrid hovercraft of the latest model. The GT-Auto 16. “Crap, speed up! I know that guy. He must of spotted us stealing his car.”
Darkan grinned and then stepped hard on the gas pedal as they took off quickly. On the sign, it said twenty more miles, until reaching to Pentia.
“If you know him, get the wheel.”
They switched places and Jacob noticed the hovercraft was right next to them. The window got rolled down and the guy shouted at them and then took out a gun. Darkan took out the dagger and then noticed the bullet got shot. It was like the matrix for him. He timed it just right and hit the bullet with the knife, making it fly back and hit the hovercraft’s door.
“Dang you kids! You are so going to pay for that!” he shouted.
Darkan grabbed his wrist and then pulled him out of the car. The guy rolled across the ground and the hovercraft swerved around and flew into the lake and sunk in.
Darkan sat back and then looked at Jacob with a smile.
Jacob, a little sober, blinked. “Woah… That… Is… Awesome!” he said with a laugh. “How’d you block that bullet? It was aiming right for me! Dude, you have some sort of special reflex or somethin’.”
Darkan just smirked and looked out of the window. “Practice…” he told him.
They reached Pentia in about a few minutes, which didn’t take long and they realized they ran out of gas already! Jacob sighed and got out. “Well, we are in Pentia. Now to find the lab.”
Darkan frowned. “We have company…” he warned, looking at several people walking down the street. From the looks of it, they are the new clan, the Anti-Human Clan. You could tell by their tattoos or their customized black vests. It always had a skull of a rabbit and two hand guns as a background.
“Lookie here!” a gruff bull character spoke out. His head was a bull, had tusks instead of horns, and had a nose ring on him. He must be one of the leaders, considering he carried a pistol. “A human.”
A cat-like woman stepped up. She hissed, “We are going to eat you alive!”
The reptilian grinned as he flipped out a dagger, his teeth razor sharp. He spoke, “And ussse your bonesss asss a trophy. Sss ss ssss…” he laughed with hisses. They then attacked.
Jacob cursed and then jumped over the car and drop kicked the girl cat across the face. “If you are going to mess with him,” Jacob announced. “You gotta get th-“
Darkan flipped out the dagger and then ran at the leader. The leader moved out of the way from the thrust and pulled out the gun. He aimed right at his head.
Jacob cursed and then kicked at his hand, making the gun shoot up in the air and the gun fly out of his hand, landing a few feet away.
Darkan sliced upwards, cutting the bull’s wrist, making a big gash in the arm. His arm bleed down his wrist. Then without hesitation, he quickly jabbed the knife into his throat, making him choke up blood.
Jacob cursed even more, seeing Darkan killing the leader. “Now they are going to have your head!” cried Jacob.
“Better them than me,” he quickly replied as he attacked the lizard person.
But the lizard backed away and then took off, frightened. Darkan let him go and then looked at the knocked out cat girl. Darkan flipped his knife into his pocket and then looked at Jacob and then took off, knowing which way to go.
“Wait up! Where you goin’, Dark?” he called out, chasing after him. He was about to shoot him with the tranquilizer, but decided best not to.
“I know the way. Give me the gun,” he called for him back.
Jacob didn’t know if he could trust him enough. But his gut feeling that he should, or else he might turn against him. He took it out, along with some of the bullets.
As they rounded the corner, they came up upon a bunker nearby. Jacob slowed down when he saw him stop. Darkan grabbed hold of Jacob and dragged him to the side of the building. He whispered, “Careful and stay quiet. Follow me and you won’t get spotted. Give me the gun.”
Jacob handed him over the gun and some of the tranquilizer bullets. “Man, you are crazy. I don’t know about this.”
“Trust me,” was all he said as he stealthily drifted to the fences. The guard was in the booth, waiting for any unsuspecting people come across. Luckily, it wasn’t as busy as they hoped. Darkan aimed the gun and shot at the guard’s neck, making him collapse and fall asleep.
They rushed up and then dragged the person out of the view and then looked at the controls. He pressed the green button, which opened the fence. He then opened the compartment and ripped out some of the wires, so it won’t be able to be used. They then hurried along, hiding in each and every corner as they went in deeper.
They then stopped at the cellar door, where they saw several guards in there, and one of them had the key. He began to figure out what to do. Could he take out one guy with the gun and drop kick the other? Yes he could, but what about the third guard? He noticed the angles and they made a triangle. He could shoot the further up person and attack the guy on the right.
“Hey, Drunk… You think you can act quickly and knock the guy to the far left out?”
“What about the other two?” he whispered back.
“I got them. Just don’t screw up.” And then he took off through the doorway, following quickly behind by Jacob. With great accuracy, he shot the guard in the middle and then kicked and landed on the face of the guard. As the third guard was about to pull out his gun, Jacob came up and gave him a rabbit punch right across the face. Darkan, just to make sure, shot one round each on the guards to keep them asleep.
“Alas! The key!” He said with a wry grin. He grabbed the key and began to figure out which one to unlock the bracers.
“Okay, tell me again why you need those off?” Jacob asked, a little confused.
Just as he was about to tell him, a guard stopped and saw them. He then announced over the radio, “Guards! The suspect and the civilian are in here! Bar the gates now!”
Jacob cursed as Darkan continued to figure out which key. Jacob ran off around the corner and grabbed a metal pipe as the guard rushed up and was about to shoot Darkan. But then Jacob bashed him across the head, knocking him out.
“Finally!” Darkan cheered with an evil grin upon his face. “Now… Time to destroy the base! Then we don’t have to worry about the ANI anymore!” Just as the three guards rushed in, they aimed at Jacob. They shot their rounds at him.
Darkan yelled and put up his hands in the air and the bullets slowed to a halt right in front of Jacob. Jacob was aghast when the bullets just stopped. The guards were bewildered as well. Darkan then blasted an energy wave at them, pushing them out of the door and ramming so hard into a wall, that they broke through.
Jacob looked at Darkan, scared. He was scared if he was going to hurt him, or kill any people.
Darkan then said, “Let’s go, before more help arrives. I don’t want to risk killing anyone, just to destroy the base.”
Jacob stared, then nodded. He then followed Darkan, now his speed was so quick, it was hard to keep up. Darkan blasted away a door and went inside the control room. The scientists gasped and then backed away.
“The experiment!” one of them cried. “It escaped!”
“I’m not a toy! I’m human!” he growled at them and then blasted them back with waves, knocking them out. Darkan ran over and began typing. He then shouted, “Drunk, get out of here, now!” he shouted.
“But where?”
He looked over, where there was a window that led outside.
“Won’t they be out there?”
“No.”
“Okay then…” He then ran over and then bashed through the window. He then ran out of the base and looked back. He sighed and then walked away towards the gate. He was going to have a different life now. But soon it ended. Someone shot him through the chest. Jacob gasped and then collapsed to the ground. Two things he heard: a scream, and an explosion.
Soon, Jacob heard a familiar voice in his head. “Hey Drunk… Drunk! Wake up!”
Jacob woke up, feeling like he had a hangover. “What the? I thought I… died.”
“You did, till I saved you.” Darkan replied.
Jacob got up and looked around. “Where the heck are you?”
“Only way to save your life is giving a life. I’m inside you now. But you have to pay, big time, Drunk.”
Jacob blinked. “Er… Okay, what is it?”
“You can’t drink.”
“Aww, come on! You can’t stop me!”
“I can control you though.” Darkan replied.
Jacob sighed. “Fine. No more drinking. Now I wish I was dead,” he told him as he laid back down on the bed.

Yeah, my teacher says I rushed it a little on the ending, but the ironic thing is that it can only be 5 pages long... I had to put it in 8pt font in order for it to fit to at least some pages, but it was the best I could do.
